Joining a CTF from a Course

Abstract

U.S. Cyber Range instructors may choose to create a CloudCTF environment exclusively available to students within their course. This type of CloudCTF is known as a private CTF. This article details how to join a private CTF from a U.S. Cyber Range course. If you received a link to join a public CTF, please see the section titled Public CTF Environment in the article titled Getting Started in CloudCTF.

How to join a CTF from a Course

  1. First, please see the article titled How to Login to the Cyber Range.

    The Login Button is found to the right of the Sign Up button in the top-right section of the homepage.

  2. Next, please click on the appropriate course that contains the CTF environment. In the example below, we will be clicking on the course titled "Cybersecurity Fundamentals".

    Your courses are listed as cards under the header "Courses".

  3. Once you have entered into the correct course, please click on the CloudCTF environment, as shown below.

  4. Next, please click on the "Start" button to open up the CTF in a new tab of your browser.

    The start button is located on the exercise environment page below the environment description and details.

  5. Below is a screenshot of the CloudCTF exercise starting in your browser. Once you have successfully made it to this page, please click on "Start" to begin participating in the CTF.
